It’s the end of March and we’re almost done going over all EM goals. All the students built motors and electromagnets to help them understand how currents and magnetism interact. They also used simulations (PhET), created concept maps, outlines, quizzes, blog posts, screencasts and took a couple of quizzes… all of this in the past 2 months.
The last section of our Unit involves Power Generation and Distribution. It’s part of this section to do a little research and create a poster explaining how different types of energy work and how they can be used to generate electrical energy (+ advantages and disadvantages of each type of energy). Although we’re almost done with the Unit, we’re far from understanding everything and this is why we’ll be coming back to this Unit every chance we have, allowing us to create lasting meaningful connections.
